A Word from Jeremy Benson

My love affair with bikes began when I got my first mountain bike in 1992. Over the past 30+ years, my passion for cycling has only grown and I feel very lucky to have stumbled into a career that involves a sport that I love.

I started testing gear as a skier, helping sponsors with fit/wear testing and product development, and working as a ski tester for SKI and Skiing magazines. Writing began as a side hustle but slowly evolved into my full-time gig as I slowly made the transition out of my wannabe pro skier phase. I began testing and reviewing cycling gear full-time over 6 years ago, and I am extremely happy to be a part of the Bikerumor team.

I live in the year-round playground of Truckee, CA, just north of Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada mountains with my beautiful wife and two cats. I ride mostly for fun and fitness, but I like to participate in mountain and gravel races like the Downieville Classic and Lost and Found Gravel Grinder. When I’m not chasing dirt in the winter months, you can find me climbing peaks in search of smooth snow.
